Security Officer Duties and Responsibilities:

​

TO BE A SECURITY OFFICER IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN OR A LEGAL RESIDENT ALIEN, ABOVE THE AGE OF 18 YEARS OLD AND WITH NO CRIMINAL CHARGES WITHIN THE PAST THREE (3) YEARS AND YOU MUST BE OF GOOD MORAL CHARACTER (Not a Habitual User of Drugs or Alcohol)

 

The typical duties of a Security Officer include:

  • Controlling access to buildings and protecting employees, guests and the public

  • Patrolling areas and performing security checks

  • Monitoring alarms and surveillance systems

  • Enforcing laws, rules and company policies

  • Writing activity and incident reports

  • Protect personnel and property

  • Responding to emergencies

 

In addition to standard security measures, trained Security Officers have capabilities that contribute to the effectiveness of every organization.

 

Security Officers must be alert, honest, have integrity, good communications skills and must follow orders.
